MUSICAL SOCIETY FROM ALZIRA

 

Is one of the Valencian musical organizations that greater prestige has obtained in the 34 years of the operation of the Organization, as much by his successes as by his quality. Its pedagogical work is reflected in more than 100 professional musicians who have left their School of Music and that at the present time develops their professional work in the best ones, bands, orchestras, conservatories, schools and institutes of Spain.

Result of his cultural policy the Musical Society summons from the year the 2001 National Contest of Composition of the "Pasodoble Fallero" and since 2002 the Alzira Spanish Brass Festival, pioneering and unique Festival in the field of music for the metal instruments.

The Musical Society from Alzira a forms it in the present time a Symphonic Band, Young Band, String Orchestra, Metal group "Rumbau", Percussion Group and Clarinets Quartet "Lluch".

Count with a School of Music of the great prestige and with more than 250 students.

The artistic director is Àngel Crespo García.

 

DIRECTOR

Àngel Crespo was born in Picassent (Valencia) in 1965, begins its studies of music in the Societat Artistico-Musical of its town, in which years later he will be professor of his School and director of the Young Band. It follows his studies of clarinet in the Superior Conservatory of Valencia, where it also studies harmony with Mr. Lluis Blanes.

It is to emphasize in his formation like director the self-taught component. It makes courses of direction and composition with diverse professors, emphasizing made in the University from Alcalá de Henares with the teacher Miguel Angel Gómez Martinez.

He has directed to diverse bands and orchestras of the Valencian Community in quality of guest. Since 1992 is the titular director of the Societat Musical d'Alzira, Band, Orchestra and School of Educands. Also he has been Director of the Band from the Centro Artístico Musical de Moncada during 5 years. Director-founder of Centre d'Estudis Musicals "Mestre Palau". Director since 1982 of the Band of the Sdad. Director of the Unió Protectora Musical de Vallada, director of the School of Music "Constantino Torregrosa", and founder of the choir of the same Society.  

It has participated in numerous contests of bands obtaining important awards. They emphasize those of the Delegation of Valencia, Valencian Country, Leganés, Campo de Criptana, Altea, the  International Certamen from Valencia, Kerkrade (Holland), Her professional work also includes the work transcription for band. He has published a study on the native composers of its population. To also emphasize the recording of several CDs with Valencian music, and the permanent interest by the study and the spreading of Valencian music because it has been promotional assets and director of several works of contemporary Valencian composers, among them “Raíces” by Juan José Revueltas and the one that name gives to this CD: “ LA VALL DE LA MURTA”.
