SYMPHONIC BAND OF THE MUSICAL SOCIETY FROM ALZIRA

It is one of the Valencian musical groups that greater prestige has obtained in the 34 years of the operation of the Organization, as much by his successes as by his quality. Its pedagogical work is reflected in more than 100 professional musicians who have left their School of Music and that at the present time develops their professional work in the best ones, bands, orchestras, conservatories, schools and institutes of Spain.

The trajectory of the Symphonic Band of the Musical Society of Alzira goes bound to the Contest the International of Bands "Ciutat de València"; from 1972 it participates in the same one, obtaining First prizes in all the sections, emphasizing the Mention of Honor obtained in 1994. An important characteristic of its participation is the work order, emphasizing "Raices" by the Alziran composer J. Colomer in 2000 and "La Vall de la Murta" in 2002 by A. Valero Castells.

Also the Internationa contestlof Bands from Kerkrade has participated in several occasions in the contest (Holland), obtaining First prizes in the category of Division of Concert and Gold medals and Gold Timbal in the specialty of Marcha-Desfile. In 1997  participates in the Contest the International of Altea obtaining a 2nd Prize. In 2000 participated in XXVII the National Contest of National Bands from Campo de Criptana, obtaining a first Prize. In 2001 the International Festival of Bands from Loures (Portugal) acts in the closing.

His discography is ample, emphasizing the following recordings: World Music Contest 1997 Kerkrade, XXX Aniversari  Banda Simfònica d'Alzira, Altea 1997, Plaza Mayor 2000, Fiesta Española 1999, Raíces 2001, Entre Fallas y Naranjos 2002, La Vall de la Murta 2003, Plaza Mayor 2004  and La Vall de la Murta 2004.

With the Symphonic Band of the Musical Society from Alzira they have acted of solists, artists as M. Monreal, P. Iturralde, R. Tortajada, E. Rumbau J. Bonet, J. Thompson, G. Millière, Spanish Brass – Luur Metalls.

They have been directors of this group, Francisco Hernández Guirado, Ramón Herrero García, Ernesto Artal and Nicanor Sanz Sifre. At the present his directo is Àngel Crespo García.
